Beautiful Wings

I wanted to make a birthday for my grand niece - she will be four in June - and I knew that I wanted to have butterflies on it.  I had been struggling making her card using Flight of the Butterfly and the coordinating punch.  It was just not working for me.

I saw THIS card and knew it was just what I wanted.  I put the other card, stamp set and punch to the side and started over.

This is my card.  I still have not put a greeting - I may just leave that for the inside of the card.  I quite like it just the way it is.  I plan to put some of the smaller butterflies that I cut cut on the inside of the card so that when she opens it they will flutter out.

Card Stock - Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White,
Welcome Neighbour DSP pad (SAB)
Other - Melon Mambo Polka Dot ribbon, Clear Rhinestone Circle brads, Flower brad, dimensionals, mini glue dots
Tools - Beautiful Wings Embosslit (I hope this makes it to the new catalogue), Perfect Polka Dots testured Impressions Folder

Simply Stampin' - Project 10 - Top Note Envelope Card

This is another card inspired by Heather Summers and her Simply Stamping online class.  Heather used Bella Bleu DSP in her demonstration and the Vintage Vogue stamp set which resulted in a very vintage looking card.  I do not have that DSP so decided to use Cottage Wall DSP and the Beautiful Wings embosslit to create my card.

Heather demonstrated a technique of lining up the Top Note Die, the fold of the card and the plastic cutting plates in such a way that only half of the top note was cut out.

Hope you like my card.  This photo shows the "envelope" closed.

This photo shows the "envelope" open and the little pull out card inside.  The fun thing about this card is that it measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" so it will fit in a standard envelope.

The card is not complete - once I decide for what occasion this card will be used I will add a greeting onto the front.

Supplies Used:
Card Stock - Old Olive, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Pale Plum, Cottage Wall DSP
Other - Old Olive ribbon (retired), SU Beautiful Wings embosslit, Clear Rhinestone brads
