Another Hybrid Card

This card is CASE'd from one I saw on Stampin' Connection - an online showcase for Stampin' Up! demonstrators only. The originator used the actual stamp sets and although I do own all of them, I created the focal panel using My Digital Studio. I cut that to 3 1/2" x 5" and layered it onto a layer of Soft Suede measuring 3 3/4" x 5 1/4". The base case card is Very Vanilla.

I added a few highlights with glitter glue and the card was done.

This was one of the cards I made with my sisters and her two daughters when we had a craft day a few weeks ago.

It sure looks like my layering is not straight but in real life it is much better than it looks in this photo.

Supplies
Digital Downloads - Lovely as a Tree; Welcome Christmas; Heard from the Heart (all of the downloads used are available as stamp sets as well)
Colours - Very Vanilla; Soft Suede; Cherry Cobbler; Basic Black
Card Stock - Very Vanilla; Soft Suede
Other - Dazzling Details

Glittery Ornament Card

A couple of weeks ago I posted a really quick and easy card with a bit of a Wow factor. Pretty much all I had done was to punch out a snowflake (save the punched piece for another project) and mount a piece of red glimmer paper behind it. You can see it HERE

This card is very similar but uses the ornament punch. Although it takes a little more time than the snowflake card, it is still fairly quick and easy.

Supplies
Stamp Set - Christmas Greetings
Ink - Real Red
Card Stock - Whisper White; Real Red; Red Glimmer; Silver Glimmer
Punch - Ornament; Dotted Ribbon
Other - 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon; "Shimmer Mist"

Quick and Easy Lovely as a Tree Card

I loved this card when I saw it on Julie Leblanc's blog and knew it would be a good card for my craft day with my sister and her daughters. It is also on the list for Judy and I to make, although may not be until next year.

I didn't make any changes at all. You can see Julie's video for this card HERE.

Supplies
Stamp Set - Lovely as a Tree; Heard from the Heart

Today is my dad's birthday - 80 years young. Yesterday we had a birthday celebration for him.

It's a pocket card and the insert is stamped with some of the images from the stamp set and holds a gift card.

Ink - Crumb Cake; Not Quite Navy; Cherry Cobbler
Card Stock - Whisper White; Not Quite Navy; Nautical Expedition DSP (retired)

Snowman Punch Art

On Monday when Judy and I had our "play date" we made cards that I have already posted to my blog.

My card today is one we probably won't get to this year, but it will certainly be on the list for next Christmas. I did however do this card with my sister and her two daughters last Friday. We had a crafting afternoon and had a great time. NOTE - I had scheduled this post before our craft day and we did not make this card (I forgot to pack the kit I had put together - so this will be a next year's project with them as well).

As you know if you are a regular reader, most of my projects have been CASEd from other papercrafters. This is no exception. I can't link to any one person's blog as I have seen so many variations of this cute little snowman. So here he is -

Supplies

Stamp Set - Serene Snowflakes
Ink - Whisper White pigment ink; Baja Breeze Classic; Blushing Bride Classic
Card Stock - Whisper White; Baja Breeze; Basic Black; Real Red; Pumpkin Pie
Punches - 1 1/4 Square; Word Window; Ornament; 3/4" circle; Two Step Owl; Small Heart; Small Star (retired); Decorative Label; Scalloped oval
Other - Mica Flakes; Tombow Multi Purpose Glue; White Signo Gel Pen; Basic Black Marker; 1/8" Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon; Basic Rhinestones; My Digital Studio (for greeting)

Hybrid Card

Early in November Stampin' Up! offered some free downloads for My Digital Studio. One of those was Home for the Holidays. I had checked out the stamps and embellishments but did not even look at the templates that were included with the download. It wasn't until last week one day that I saw a hybrid card on Diana Gibb's blog that she had created using the postcard template from the Home for the Holidays download. I loved it and wished I had been more attentive to what I was getting. Check out Diana's card HERE.

Here is my card -

I decided to change the greeting - so easy to do. I just deleted the greeting on the template and selected another one. Once I was happy with the look I created duplicate pages and then printed 4 to a page. I trimmed them, mounted them onto a Cherry Cobbler layer and then onto the Very Vanilla Card base. I then "glitzed" it up a bit by adding some Dazzling Details to the "snow banks".

Snowman Candy Bar Wrapper

Are you looking for a really cute table favour or even gift card holder then you have to check out the free download on Laurie Furnell's blog HERE.

Judy found it and it was one of our projects this week. She did the download and then printed the images onto plain copy paper. We trimmed them to fit our candy bars (in these samples we used the 100g Cadbury Caramilk bars. The little hat is made of a 6 inch square of polar fleece. The scarf is a 1/2" by 12" strip of the fleece.

Button Buddies

I'm not sure where I saw this card - as soon as I figure that out I will post the link.

Here is a closeup of the focal image so you can see the embossed oval surrounding the snowman.

Stamp Set - Button Buddies, Snow Much Fun

Bells & Boughs - Card 3

This is the third card I made inspired by Wendy Weixler HERE

As with yesterday's card I used the snowflake embossing folder. This time though I decided to make the card as a 5 1/2" by 4 1/4". I also used the stamp set Christmas Greetings.

Bells & Boughs - Card 2

This is the second of the cards I made that were inspired by Wendy Weixler HERE

This time I used the snowflake embossing folder.

Bells & Boughs

While I was blog hopping last weekend I visited the blogs of stampers participating in the November Control Freaks Blog Hop. This months theme was KISS (Keep it Simple Stamper). One of the projects posted by Wendy Weixler HERE really caught my eye and I decided to make a few. This is the first one that I did.

I used the stripes embossing folder instead of the Houndstooth and rather than colouring in the holly berries and adding Dazzling Details I coloured some of our rhinestones with a permanent marker. I also used the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding Ribbon in place of the quilted Early Espresso Ribbon that Wendy used.

Hope you like it.

Happy Birthday Nan!

Today is my mother in law's 89th birthday. We'll be having a family dinner this evening to celebrate. I made a card from the whole family but forgot to take a photo before giving it to my brother in law so he could sign it.

Quick and Easy Card

I am always on the lookout for cards that are quick and easy but have a bit of a wow factor.

I saw THIS card on Angela McKay's blog one day and used it as inspiration for my card today.

I decided to use Real Red for my card base. I punched a snowflake in my Whisper White panel and then put a piece of Stampin' Up!'s wonderful red glimmer behind it. I stamped the greeting, adhered the ribbon and the stuck the whole layer to my card base. Added a rhinestone and I was done! Truly a less than five minute card.

Hope you like it.

It is hard to see the glimmer paper so here is a close up - I think you can see it a bit better.

Supplies
Stamp - Four the Holidays
Ink - Real Red Classic Ink
Card Stock - Real Red, Whisper White, Red Glimmer
Other - Snowflake Punch, Real Red Satin Ribbon

Tags til Christmas

Judy and I made this card a couple of weeks ago. I had seen it on Monica Gale's blog HERE. You will have to scroll down a bit - there are two cards in that post and I Case'd the second one.

I decided to use Riding Hood Red cardstock and some retired ribbon. I also made my Crumb Cake border a little smaller. Hope you like it.

Supplies
Stamps - Tags til Christmas, Delightful Dozen
Ink - Chocolate Chip
Card Stock - Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Other - Dotted Ribbon border punch, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Stampin' Dimensionals.

This card could be easily "stepped up" by adding some of the Stampin' Up! rhinestone or pearl jewels and some shimmer spray.

When I first saw this stamp set in the Holiday Mini catalogue I had decided not to get it - I purchased the digital download for My Digital Studio. I liked it so much I decided to buy the stamp set as well.

Judy and I made this card together last week. The minute I saw it on Stampin' Connection I knew I would have to add it to our list of projects.

It was posted by a fellow demonstrator whose name is Karen Gibson. You can see her card HERE.

The only change we made was to use the holly leaves from the Winter Wishes stitched felt.

So here is my card
