Inky Divas Weekly Challenge - Week of October 26

This week's challenge was to create a winter themed card using vellum and at least one of the colours Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate and Cherry Cobbler.

My card uses Lost Lagoon and Smoky Slate with a little Basic Black card stock and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.

I stamped the trees onto the vellum panel using Versamark Ink and heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  I then ran it through the Softly Falling embossing folder to add a little texture. Behind the vellum is a Smoky Slate panel.  I stamped the single pine tree using Lost Lagoon ink. The vellum panel was adhered with glue dots.  They do show through so I added some rhinestones and snowflakes to cover them.

Using the Sleigh Ride edgelits I cut the houses from Lost Lagoon card stock and the horse and sleigh from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.

Christmas Treat Holders

I have started playing with ideas for treat holders to use as table favours and to have on hand for little gifts.  In the 2015 Holiday Catalogue Stampin' Up! included a square pillowbox die.  Although I didn't buy it, I was intrigued with it.  The finished box is about 4" square and the package of dies includes several dies to cut out embellishments.

I thought a pillowbox would be a great treat holder but a 4" square box would be too big for what I wanted so I decided to see if I could create my own using my Silhouette Cameo eCutter.  I did have a pillowbox in my downloads but it was not a square but I was able to resize it to create a box with a finished size of 3" x 3" - a perfect size to hold two Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares.  I was able to cut three boxes from one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock.

The first one I made is a "Santa".  Pretty quick to make and I think it will make a great little gift or table favour.

Stampin' Supplies
Card Stock - Real Red, Black Glimmer Paper, Silver Glimmer Paper
Other - Silhouette Cameo eCutter, 1 1/4" Square Punch, 7/8" Square Punch (nonSU), Owl Builder Punch (buttons)

Note - when I make more of these Santa boxes I will probably reduce the size of the belly band to 3/4"; the silver buckle will be punched with the 1" square punch and the black insert will be 3/4" square.

Inky Divas Weekly Challenge - Week of October 19

This week's challenge was to create Fall or Halloween Card Candy.  For those of you who aren't familiar with Card Candy - it is simply elements that can be attached when making cards.

I decided on a Halloween theme for my entry.  There were no restrictions on what Stampin' Up! products could be used - current/retired.  I used a combination of current and retired products including My Digital Studio.  All of the elements have been attached with repositionable adhesive so could be easily removed to add to a card front.

Once all of the elements had been adhered to the background piece I packaged it in a cellophane bag and attached a topper.  Sorry for the glare - no matter what I did I couldn't get a good photo.

Stampin' Supplies
Stamps - Teeny Tiny Wishes, Merry Everything, Mingle All The Way (retired), Fall Fest (retired)
Ink - Memento Black, Pumpkin Pie
Card Stock - Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Basic Black, Black Glimmer

Sheltering Tree

This is another card I on World Card Making Day.  I wanted to see if I could create an Autumn card using the Sheltering Tree stamp set.  Overall I am happy with the card but there are a few things I might change if I were to make it again - for sure I would not smudge the ink!

Stamps - Sheltering Tree
Ink - Early Espresso, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz, Gold Glimmer
Card Stock - Whisper White, Early Espresso

Inky Divas Challenge - Week of October 12

This week's challenge was to create a card using one of Stampin' Up's decorative masks and to include punch art.  I had seen THIS card on Pinterest and decided to recreate it using punches for the pumpkins rather than stamps and framelits.

I am quite happy with my little ghost in the pumpkin patch!

Time to Chill

I love the little penguin in the Snow Place stamp set.  I have borrowed that set along with the coordinating framelits from Judy for a little bit.  When I saw Connie Babbert's card a few days ago I knew that I would be CASEing it.  You can see Connie's card HERE.

I totally copied Connie's card except for the "iceberg" the penguin is standing on.  Rather than using Whisper White card stock,  I used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  Love it!  I don't have the Washi Label punch so I improvised the look by using a deckle edge blade in my rotary cutter.

Card Stock - Whisper White, Real Red, Smoky Slate, Merry Moments DSP, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper

Merry Moments

Some of my most favourite cards are clean and simple.  I saw THIS card posted by Brian King and knew right away that I wanted to copy it.  I had the card stock, the DSP and the Enamel Dot embellishments but I didn't have the stamp set.  I looked through the sets I do have and although there were many that might have worked I decided to create the greeting in My Digital Studio (retired).  I used the Alphabet Soup punches and then resized the phrase to fit the card.  Although I selected Real Red as the colour, it looks more like Cherry Cobbler.

Stampin' Supplies
Card Stock - Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Merry Moments DSP
Other - Home for Christmas Enamel Dots; Banner Punch, My Digital Studio (retired)

Watercolour Wings

I wanted to make a card using some of the DSP I received in the product share I purchased.  I saw THIS card when I was searching for cards using the Go wild DSP.  I did like it a lot with that choice but I wanted to use a piece of DSP from the Everyday Chic papers.  In the photo the doily does not show up as well as it does in person.

Stampin' Supplies
Stamps - Watercolor Wings; Express Yourself (retired)
Ink - Watermelon Wonder; Tip Top Taupe; Memento Black
Card Stock - Whisper White; Tip Top Taupe; Cardstock Vellum; Everyday Chic DSP

World Card Making Day - October 3

Yesterday was World Card Making Day and although I did make a card but forgot to post it.  So here it is:

While tidying up in my craft room I found a partially made card featuring the Bokeh technique.  I decided to use that for my card. Using VersaMark Ink I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of vellum and heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  I then adhered it to my bokeh panel with mini glue dots and covered those up with rhinestones.  The whole panel was then added to the Blackberry Bliss card base.  I wish I had done a Lost Lagoon layer between the focal panel and the card base but I am pretty happy with it.

Stampin' Supplies
Stamps - Happy Birthday Everyone
Ink - VersaMark, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White
Card Stock - Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, Vellum
Other - Sponge Daubers, White Embossing Powder, Rhinestones, Mini Glue Dots
