I have almost depleted my supply of the Bohemian DSP. This card was perfect to use up some of the small scraps I have been hoarding. The original was posted by Mary Brown (aka stampercamper) HERE.

Freshly Made Sketches 204
This morning I decided to participate in the Freshly Made Sketches challenge for this week. This is the sketch posted on the website HERE.

I had some scraps on my table from a couple of recent projects so I thought I could use some of them to create a card.
I had a little piece of the vellum I had stamped with silver snowflakes left over from yesterday's card and a scrap of Night of Navy cardstock from the stairstep card I posted earlier today. I also had a scrap of Shimmery White on the table along with the Endless Wishes stamp set.
I wanted a "mailable" card so rather than add a layer stamped with the snowflakes I masked the card base and stamped the snowflakes directly onto it. I trimmed the Night of Navy and vellum pieces to the size I wanted and used the scrap of Shimmery White to die cut the sleigh.

Stairstep Card
During the summer I had been browsing on Pinterest and was quite intrigued to find a link to purchase cutting dies coordinating with the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!. I knew I had to have them as well as the dies to coordinate with Ornamental Pine. After thinking about it for a couple of days I ordered them and they arrived last week.
I saw THIS card on Pinterest and followed the link to the stamper's website. I have never done this style of stairstep card before so I decided I was going to give it a try. The trees on the original card were hand cut - I was so happy to be able to use my new dies.
I'm not sure about the sentiment stamped directly on the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.

Merry Everything
Today's card is a CASE of a card I saw this morning on my upline Josée Smuck's blog. You can see her card HERE.
Josée used the Holiday Foil Designer Vellum available in the 2015 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue for her background. I don't have that but wanted to make this card right away. I used vellum cardstock and stamped the snowflakes and stars with Encore Silver Metallic ink. The snowflake stamp and silver ink are both retired items. The little stars are included in the Jingle all the Way stamp set. I adhered the vellum panel to the card stock layer with glue dots and then added the rhinestones to the snowflakes to hide the glue dots.
I used Shimmery White cardstock to cut the trees and houses using the Sleigh Ride edgelits. The house layer is adhered with stampin' dimensionals. The greeting is stamped with Memento Black ink and is from the Jingle all the Way stamp set.

Christmas in Summer 12
This is another card I saw on Pinterest last year. The original has some stitching and a bit of sponging on the edges but I didn't do that for my card. I wish I had as it really added a lot to the look of the card. You can see the original HERE (you will have to scroll down a bit).
The patterned paper is from the retired Trim the Tree Paper Stack. I may have to go back to the card and perhaps do a little faux stitching - I just don't see me pulling out my sewing machine to stitch on a card.

Inky Divas Challenge - Week of September 13
This week's challenge was to create a fall themed card using brayer and/or sponging techniques. It's been a while since I picked up my brayer so this was definitely a challenge for me. I don't know how many backgrounds I discarded during the process. In the end I am pretty happy with my card. No falling leaves but I think the colours at least meet the fall theme.
The sky was brayered using So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Cajun Craze. I sponged the hills with Chocolate Chip. The sand was sponged with Sahara Sand and Soft Suede.

Christmas in Summer 11
I decided to duplicate a card I had made earlier (HERE) but used a different die from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits set. I really like the simplicity of the design and a bonus is that it won't need extra postage to mail it.

Halloween 3
This is another super cute Halloween card I saw last year posted by Mary Fish HERE. It was really quick to put together - cut a couple 3 1/4" squares of designer series paper, adhere the ghost and a bit of linen thread and the sentiment and you are done!

Snow Place
On Thursday I went over to Judy's and after lunch we sat down and stamped! It's been a while since we stamped together and it felt good. Judy had bought the Snow Place stamp set and coordinating Snow Friends framelits from the Holiday catalogue so we had decided that we were going to make a couple of cards using it. A few weeks back we had seen a card posted by Anne Granger using that set and decided we wanted to CASE it. Anne had followed a layout posted by Kimberly Van Diepen. I had also made a few card using that same layout.
Here are the links
Anne's Card
Kimberly's Card
My Cards - Card 1; Card 2; Card 3
When recreating Anne's card we used the same colours but added a bit of texture by using the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing folder for the layer behind the focal image. We considered several different folders but decided on that one because it reminded us of an igloo. Rather than using a piece of ribbon we used the striped stamp from Lots of Joy to create the little bit of horizontal interest.
The card base and embossed panel use the thicker Whisper White card stock now available from Stampin' Up!.
Don't you just love the little penguin?

Holiday Catalogue CASE
Every time there is a new Stampin' Up! catalogue - Annual, Holiday or Occasions - I immediately start my Wish List and then start to edit it. When I received the 2015 Holiday Catalogue there was so much I wanted. As I started to look at my list of "must haves" I realized that I really needed to whittle it down. I had seen a Halloween card on page 39 and decided I needed to buy all of the elements for that card. That meant an embossing folder, a stamp set, a set of framelits, ribbon, Designer Series Paper and spider web doilies.
When I started thinking about it I realized that I could make a very similar card using supplies already in my craft room! I had ordered the Spider Web Doilies but that was all I purchased for this card.
To make the background I opened My Digital Studio and pulled up the Motley Monsters DSP download. I imported the tree pattern into a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" photobox, changed it to black and white and then changed the opacity. I had some halloween downloads and found a couple of ravens so added them to my background and then printed onto Smoky Slate cardstock - I was a happy girl - it was better than I thought it would be! So now I had my background. I layered on the doily and trimmed off the excess. I found some Rich Razzleberry Satin ribbon (retired) and some retired Washi tape and added them to the card.
Next I needed the word BOO! There is a set of framelits that include the word BOO! (page 49) and although tempted I didn't get it. I have an eCutter so I opened the design page and created the word and sized it as closely as I could to what I thought the framelit would produce. Cut it out of whisper white card stock, tied a bit of Black baker's twine and applied it to the card. Happy! Happy!
Next was the circle in order to finish the card. Back to My Digital Studio. The stamp used on the sample in the catalogue coordinates with the 2" circle punch. In MDS I added a circle punch and colour filled it with Pumpkin Pie The next step was to create a text box and type in the word spooky. I found a font that I thought would work, adjusted the size, coloured it white and layered it onto the circle punch. Next I found a stamp with the eyes. I changed the colour to white and then positioned it below the word spooky. I printed it out onto matte photo paper (the colour is better than printing to Whisper White), punched it out and adhered it to the card with dimensionals. The last step was to adhere the completed panel to a base of Basic Grey. Happy! Happy! Happy!
So after all that here is the card!

Inky Divas Weekly Challenge
Julie's challenge for this week was to create a "Fall" themed card using only current Stampin' Products. At first I didn't think I would participate because I don't have any current stamps that would fit the theme - I kept thinking falling leaves and the retired French Foliage stamp set. Then I remembered I have the Wondrous Wreath stamp set and coordinating framelits that could be used with autumnal colours. I had to create the banner greeting using MS Word as I didn't have a current to fit the theme. The "wood" panel is a piece of DSP from the Farmers Market pack. I only had one piece as part of the share I received from Sandi MacIver but I could have used the Hardwood Background stamp.

Christmas in Summer 10
Last year when the 2014 Holiday Catalogue was released, Kimberly Van Diepen posted a Christmas card that caught my attention and I saved it to Pinterest intending to make one. That didn't happen for last Christmas but this year I remembered the card and decided I needed to give it a try. You can see Kimberly's card HERE.
I used some of my retired stash so I am even happier with the card. Judy had bought the On Point Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from last year's Holiday Catalogue and I had embossed a bunch of card fronts in a few different colours. On this card I used one of the Cherry Cobbler panels.

Halloween
Judy and I are getting a start on our Halloween cards. This first one was found on Pinterest - see it HERE (you'll have to scroll down a bit). Although we liked the card we decided to use the retired Spider Web embossing folder as a background. We loved it!
The words are stamps we found in My Digital Studio (retired) and we cut them out with the Word Bubble Framelits. Before removing them from the framelits we did a narrow outline around the edge. They are popped up with dimensionals. We added various sizes of googly eyes to finish the card.

I have four cards to share today using the Wondrous Wreath stamp set. I used a tutorial I found on the Create with Connie and Mary website. If you click HERE you will get to the site and then just scroll down to see the list of free tutorials on the right hand side.
I'm still trying to use up some of my retired Designer Series Paper packs, one of them being the Trim the Tree Paper Stack from the 2014 catalogue that was featured in the instructions for these cards.

Christmas in Summer - 8
The Inky Divas challenge for the week of August 9 was to create a card using the "Faux Torn Edge" technique. The sample card was beautiful and used the Wetlands stamp set - a perfect set for this technique. Julie created a beach scene with her Faux Torn Edge. You can see it HERE.
I am still trying to get as many Christmas cards completed as I can so I decided to use my Lovely as a Tree stamp set along with the torn edge technique to create a wintry scene.
Here's my card

Inky Divas Challenge - Week of August 31
This week the challenge posted by Crystal was to create a card using Whisper White and Vellum card stock. I had already been thinking that a card I had posted here last week might look good with a vellum panel on it. You can see that card HERE. I replaced the white panel behind the focal image with vellum. As with the original card I embossed that panel with the Stylish Stripes folder - passing it through once, flipping it over and passing it through again - to get a plaid look.

I have been trying to use every scrap of the Bohemian DSP I received in the product share I purchased from Sandi MacIver.
The card layout and colours are the same as a couple of other cards I have posted but this time I used the Stylish Stripes embossing folder to create the plaid effect on the Delightful Dijon panel

Sketch and Stamp - SB119
I played along with Sketch and Stamp again this week. You can link to the site HERE to see the cards made by the design team and if you scroll to end of that post you can view the cards posted by other participants.

My card uses mostly retired products - I am still determined to use some of my older and retired stamp sets for this year's Christmas cards. Although I strayed a little bit, I think my card fits pretty well with the sketch.

Christmas in Summer 7
I am determined to use Christmas themed stamp sets that I have bought in previous years to do some of my cards this year. I still have a list of things I want from the 2015 Holiday Catalogue but for now I decided to use some retired sets. The first one is a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest - it uses the Lots of Stars stamp set which I don't have but I do have the Bright and Beautiful set from the 2014 Holiday Catalogue. I decided to use that along with the Stars Framelits.
You can see the card I found on Pinterest HERE.
I am pretty happy with my card and will be making more but I think I will use Mossy Meadow ink and card stock for the green star (I used Old Olive).

Happy Anniversary George & Louise
Today my brother in law and his wife celebrate 48 years of marriage. How great is that! This is the card I made for them. This is another CASE of a card posted by France Labreque HERE. I had posted a birthday card earlier this month (August 12) using the same layout.
I was happy to see how well the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers fit into the impressions made by the Happy Hearts embossing folder.
I couldn't find an "anniversary" stamp in my collection to use on the card so I went to My Digital Studio (no longer available) and chose one of the stamps there. I resized it a bit and then printed it out onto Whisper White card stock. I punched a scrap piece of card stock using the Confetti Hearts Border punch and then sponged the hearts onto my focal piece..

Two Posts in One Day!
All day I kept thinking about the card I posted this morning and how easy it would be to "step it up".
For this second card I decided to emboss the white panel using the Stylish Stripes folder to create a subtle plaid effect. I have used this technique several times since I first saw it on Michelle Last's blog HERE. It just adds a little bit of texture to the background without being too fussy.
The only other change I made was to use Pearl Embellishments rather than the Rhinestones on the first card.

Are Your Crafting Supplies Collecting Dust?
If so, you have to check out Kimberly Van Diepen's post today where she addresses an issue most of us have experienced - your crafting mojo has deserted you and you can't seem to get back to it. Click HERE to read her post and then follow along with her to create a beautiful card.
Although I have been posting every couple of days lately there had been a long period where I wasn't posting because I wasn't creating. I was so happy the day I went back into my craft room and started making cards again.
For my card today I used the same measurements as Kimberly's and decided to use stamps, paper and ink that were sitting on my desk.

Christmas in Summer 5
I have been using the Festival of Trees stamp set and coordinating punch a lot lately to get a head start on my Christmas cards for this year. Pinterest is a wonderful source of great ideas to CASE (copy and share everything) or to use as inspiration for your own creativity. Truthfully I mostly CASE.
This is one of the cards I found when I did a search on Festival of Trees on Pinterest. You can find the original HERE.

Christmas in Summer 4
A few weeks Anne Granger posted a card using the Lots of Joy stamp set from the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. You can see it HERE. I loved the use of the new Corrugated Paper. I had a small sheet of it in the product share I received from Sandi MacIver so I decided to CASE Anne's card. I didn't have the metallic thread Anne used so I unravelled some of my gold baker's twine and used the thread from that.

Sketch and Stamp - SB118
Again this week I played along with a sketch on the Stamping and Blogging website. You can see the sketch for SB118 HERE.
The Lots of Joy stamp set was on my table so I decided to use it for my card. I also had some bits and pieces of Merry Moments DSP, gold glimmer paper and the Itty Bitty Punch Pack on my desk so I used them as well.
Here's my card. In addition to following the sketch I used Sandi MacIver's layout.

Hello
My card today uses a couple of tools I have not used for a while - my Silhouette Cameo eCutter and My Digital Studio (now retired).
In the new Holiday Catalogue Stampin' Up! has introduced a window frame framelit but I don't have it yet (it is on my wish list). I used the ecutter to create the window frame and window box. The tree image is Lovely as a Tree and although I do have the stamp set the images were too large so I used the My Digital Studio download and resized (and cropped) it. I also used the little bird from the Festival of Trees download (resized it too). I used my Old Olive ink pad and a blender pen to highlight the grass and leaves and then sponged more old olive for the ground. Soft Sky ink was sponged to create the sky.

Sheltering Tree
I have become quite addicted to creating cards using an acrylic block to stamp. For today's card I used Stampin' Up!'s block D to create the background. I applied colour to the block using markers, spritzed it with a bit of water and stamped it on Whisper White card stock. I decided to use the Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamp set - I like the look of the silhouette against the background. A little bit of linen thread and the card was done.

Sketch and Stamp - SB117
I decided to play along with Sketch 117 on the Stamping and Blogging website HERE.
One of the cards posted by a design team member - Michelle Last - featured the Stylish Stripes embossing folder. She put the cardstock into the folder and embossed it, then she flipped the piece over and embossed it again ending up with a subtle plaid look. Click HERE to see Michelle's card.
I really wanted to try out that technique and combine it with a card I had seen on Pinterest.

Masculine Birthday Card
I still have several masculine birthday cards to make - this is the latest one. I CASEd France Labreque's card posted HERE. I don't have the embossing folder or stamp set France used so I used what I have on hand.
I have to say Delightful Dijon - one of the 2015-2017 InColors - is not a favourite. I may have to buy a pack of the Bohemian DSP - I got a small supply through a share and have almost used it all up. It's great for those masculine cards.

Monarch Butterfly
I had bought the Butterfly Basics stamp set and coordinating thinlits from the Occasions Catalogue and was happy to see that they are included in the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue along with a new butterfly bundle. The stamp set is Watercolor Wings and the coordinating framelits are Bold Butterfly. The really great thing is that the framelits and thinlits work with both stamp sets.
My card today uses the Watercolor Wings set - a multi step set. I stamped the bold image with pumpkin pie and for the next layer used Tangelo Twist ink. The final detail was added with Memento Black. I cut out the image using the coordinating framelit and then cut out the detailed butterfly in Basic Black to layer on top.
The background was created by scribbling Smoky Slate ink onto a clear block, spritzing it with a bit of water and then "stamping" onto the white cardstock.

Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad
My parents are celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary today. This is the card I made for them:
The card is a CASE of a wedding card I saw on Pinterest. You can see the original HERE - it's the third photo from the top.
I used a piece of Timeless Elegance Designer Paper and added some colour with my Blushing Bride Marker I added a few pearls, a bit of long retired Pleated Ribbon. The Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set was perfect for the sentiment as I didn't want it to be too big.

CASEing Mary Fish
I saw a really pretty card posted by Mary Fish and then when she added a video showing her technique for watercolouring with blender pens I knew I had to give it a try. You can see the video HERE.
Mary only coloured in the stems and leaves but I decided to do the flowers as well. I don't have any of the new Designer Series papers but I did find some in my stash that I felt would work.
Hope you like it.

The Open Sea
The Inky Divas challenge posted for the week of August 1 was to create a card with a window effect. I had seen a card on Pinterest that I thought would meet that challenge and would give me a chance to dust off The Open Sea stamp set. You can see the original card HERE.
For the background I inked up the images, stamped them off once on a scrap of paper and then stamped the card stock The ship and sentiment were stamped with StazOn Black and the "water" was coloured in using a blender pen.

Wetlands
I love the Wetlands stamp set especially the little water birds (sandpipers?) and was so happy that it is included in the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. I decided to make another card for last week's Inky Divas challenge - use an acrylic block as a stamp. There are many techniques for this - for my previous card I applied the ink directly to the block and immediately stamped on the card stock. For this card I used my Stampin' Write markers to scribble the colours onto the block. I then spritzed it several times with water and applied it to the paper. I knew I wanted to use the Wetlands stamp set so I applied three colours to try to get the illusion of beach, sea and sky.

Christmas in the Summer 3
Another of the Festival of Trees cards that I found on Pinterest also used the Circle Card Thinlits die. I hadn't used mine for quite some time so I decided to put it to use. The original card can be seen HERE.
The tree on the original tree was stamped with Old Olive ink but I am very happy with it in the Lost Lagoon.
